Adobe Fellows: Academic Innovation, Digital Creativity, and Social Change
For the Adobe Fellows program, faculty from a range of departments who teach courses in American Cultures—a universal undergraduate requirement with an emphasis on the ethnic diversity of sociopolitical and historical narratives within the United States—develop assignments in which students create projects using the Adobe CC suite of programs, including videos, podcasts, infographics, and Spark webpage presentations.
The Adobe Fellows program was conceived to:
Enrich student learning by promoting innovative methods for engaging with and representing local communities and primary sources
Amplify diverse student voices to generate positive social impacts that reach beyond the classroom
Encourage students to discover their creative potential, perhaps leading to new career paths
Empower students to develop essential professional and digital skills to carry with them beyond graduation
This session will present the overall vision of the Adobe Fellows program, including how it serves the learning goals of the American Cultures graduation requirement and aligns with the university’s new digital learning strategy. The presentation will also describe the implementation of instructional, technology, and design support for faculty and students, as well as key outcomes, lessons learned, and plans for moving forward.
