After being inspired by the Women in Technology track at UCCSC 2018 we were looking for a way to support women in the IT world at our campus but didn’t know where to start. We were five women from various departments with a common goal but no clear path forward to building a campus group of supporters, mentors, colleagues and allies. We figured out quickly that sometimes jumping in head first is the only way to get the ball rolling. In this session you’ll learn about our efforts to build a collaborative, inclusive group that focuses on propelling women and others forward in IT. You’ll understand the challenges we have faced so far, how we overcame them and the vision this group has to help change the culture of our campus IT environments, one meeting at a time.
